This plant fibre papermaking workshop is suitable for beginners as well as those with some experience. We will cover the selection of plants for papermaking, preparation and cooking of plant fibres, and processing fibres by hand and machine. Also learn about the chemistry of making a good sheet of paper, and the use of formation aid in the vat.
Participants will make sheets of paper from a range of prepared plant pulps, including New Zealand flax, artichoke thistle, common reed, wild oats, sorrel and bird of paradise. Some other plant pulps will also be available for experimentation.

Cancellation policy: If a participant withdraws their workshop registration within two weeks of the starting date of the workshop, there will be no refund unless a replacement can be found.
