2026 Valda Quick Memorial Exhibition

A group show bringing new life to paper arts
and reflecting on our relationship with the wild

26 August – 12 September
every day 9 am – 5 pm

This exhibition is an invitation to let imagination run free. Rewilding calls on us to pay attention to the living world in all its intricate beauty; to encourage diversity, rethink conventions, and find new ways to coexist and collaborate. For papermakers, it’s a prompt to explore wild possibilities in paper arts.

Working with plant fibres, seaweed, recycled paper and other materials, the contributing artists display skill in numerous techniques from handmaking paper to momigami, joomchi, origami, pulp painting and casting, folding, cutting, sculpting, book binding, printing, eco-dyeing, weaving, collage and more… The possibilities are endlessly fascinating.

Family-friendly and perfect for anyone interested in art, craft, artisanal work with natural materials, recycling, and the environment.

Artist Talk- Open to the public

You are invited to an Artist Talk over Zoom to hear from some of the artists exhibiting in our upcoming Rewilding Paper Exhibition. Tune in to hear about their work and the inspirations and techniques behind them.

Paper Reflection 2024

Paper Reflection was Papermakers of Victoria’s most recent exhibition held at Box Hill Community Arts Centre from July 30- August 17. Paper Reflection was a group exhibition of paper artists which includes prints, books, collages and sculptural forms. The exhibiting artists reflect on their physical and personal world, using the extraordinary potential of paper as an art form in its own right.
