Strong or fragile paper bowls of all sizes are attractive and functional.
In this two-day workshop you will learn how to make paper bowls with your handmade paper and take home a plaster mould for future use.
Day 1
The paper you make will be used to shape bowls in a variety of moulds.
You will use different pulps, which will be suitable for a range of bowls: from fragile and transparent to strong and ready for painting and decorating.
You will make your own plaster mould ready to use on day 2 and to keep for your continued use.
Day 2
Fragile bowls will be dipped in hot wax.
Decorative surface techniques will be used on the bowls that you made on day 1.
Plaster moulds will be strengthened and used to make more moulds.
Materials fee of $10 to be paid to the tutor on the day. A materials list will also be provided to participants closer to the date.
